The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office demanded to block the fake website of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), which was used by scammers to collect “fines” for violating self-isolation. This is stated in the message published on April 21 on the website of the Prosecutor General.

The announcement on the site says that the user violated the regime of self-isolation, in connection with which he must pay a “fine” in the amount of 2.5 thousand rubles. Otherwise, a criminal case will be instituted against the “defaulter”.

“This site has nothing to do with the official site of the Federal Penitentiary Service. At the same time, the Federal Penitentiary Service, but the Federal Bailiff Service, is not collecting fines for administrative cases, ”the report said.

In addition, the prosecutor general’s office demanded to remove the publication entitled “My opinion: the reason for strict self-isolation in Russia”. The author of the article claims that the restrictive measures related to the coronavirus were introduced to limit the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as to bring them to administrative responsibility.

Earlier, on April 16, it became known that the specialists of the Group-IB company found 37 fraudulent websites, Telegram channels and Instagram accounts selling fake digital passes for the period of self-isolation.
