Details: According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the individual in question is Volodymyr Budzinskyi (former head of the PrivatBank branch in Husiatyn, Ternopil region – ed.). In July 2021, he left the country and was subsequently placed on the national and international wanted list. According to investigators, between 2017 and 2021, he systematically embezzled funds from residents of the Ternopil region and a public organization, using unauthorized access to bank cards and accounts, as well as abusing the trust of victims. The total damage exceeds UAH 1 million. He is charged with theft, fraud, and illegal activities involving payment cards and bank account access devices (Articles 185, 190, and 200 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Thanks to the cooperation of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies with the competent authorities of Norway, the suspect was detained and extradited to Ukraine. On October 20, at the request of prosecutors, the court ordered his pretrial detention with the right to post bail. According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office, the suspect posted bail and was released from pretrial detention.
