“Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with colleagues from the Stavropol Territory and the regional UFSB, suppressed the activities of the criminal community, whose members are suspected of a series of thefts of cash from ATMs owned by one of the regional financial institutions.
It was established that nine natives of the city of Perm were involved in the criminal organization. After their accomplices had cracked the defense system, the attackers stole more than 16 million rubles from 22 terminals in the cities of Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk and Mineralnye Vody.
The Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Stavropolsky Region initiated criminal cases on the grounds of crimes provided for by parts 1, 2 of article 210, paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 158 and part 2 of article 272 of the Criminal Code of the RF.
As a result of operational search activities, law enforcement officers, with the participation of the Rosguard, detained members of the criminal community in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm and Krasnodar.
During searches in the places of temporary residence of the defendants, the operatives found 490 bank cards, computer disks, communications equipment, and also part of the stolen money.
The court for the six alleged organizers and active participants in the criminal community elected a preventive measure in the form of detention, three are under house arrest.
At present, the necessary procedural actions are being carried out aimed at identifying accomplices and documenting the unlawful activities of suspects. ”
