1. Buy a Mullvad subscription with cash in the mail, or buy a code online from Amazon which will be mailed to you.
Due to the nature of how the Mullvad subscription code is shipped, it's impossible to link your VPN account to a form of payment or billing address. Make sure to keep your account number safe and to make sure your rip up and destroy any vouchers you have redeemed.

2. Download Mullvad VPN and Mullvad Browser for Windows and make sure to install both.

3. Once you are logged in, click on the settings icon, and click on VPN settings. Set to launch on start, and auto connect,
make sure local network sharing is turned off and red, enable IPV6 if possible, turn kill switch and lockdown mode on,
change the tunnel protocol to WireGuard. Under WireGuard settings, leave the port as default and change only if NEEDED. Turn obfuscation on, (slower connection, hides the use of a VPN for blockers and network filters and firewalls)
quantum resistant tunnel which prevents man in the middle attacks or (MITM) by tricking the attacker with a random extra 500kbps packet in a specific interval. Enable multihop, which means you will have a VPN IP going, and a VPN going out. IP version should be left to automatic unless you are attempting to force IPv6 which may cause connection problems, so test accordingly and go from there.

4. Back out to the home screen of Mullvad VPN, and hit switch location, on the top-right there is a menu button that says Ownership that allows you to choose from Mullvad-owned servers, or rented servers, it's obviously safer to use servers that are owned by Mullvad itself so choose Mullvad owned only. Click Providers, and make sure all Providers are selected. Reconnect your VPN again, and you're all set!

5. Launch Mullvad Browser, (safe) to sign in with your account number generated (as it does not link to you whatsoever) and click on the Mullvad extension on the browser, and click on Proxy and Switch Locations, and connect to another country that's different from your entry and exit points.

6. Use DNSLeakTest.Com and the extended browser test to verify if you are properly protected and your DNS isn't leaking or poisoned.
