Hackers have attacked a government financial management information system in Indonesia. As a result of the hack, the attackers gained access to 82 gigabytes of sensitive data from the Regional Financial Management Information System (SIPKD).

The attack was carried out on the Regional Revenue, Finance and Asset Management Agency (BPPKAD) in Blora District. The hackers posted a message about the hack on a specialized cybercrime forum. The stolen data covers the period from 2018 to the present.

SIPKD is an integrated online platform for monitoring the regional financial administration. Among the stolen information are user data, including usernames, hashed passwords and email addresses of system employees.

The attackers got hold of information on financial transactions, budget allocations and expenditures of the regional government. Taxpayer data, including their names, identification numbers and tax payment records, were also stolen.

The scale of the breach also affects other sensitive data, including government program information, administrative data, financial transaction records, and regulatory documents.

Experts warn that a data breach of this scale could lead to identity theft, financial fraud, and the disclosure of sensitive government activities. It is not yet known whether the Blora County government is aware of the breach or has taken steps to mitigate the incident.
