In Georgia, suspected administrators of the AudiA6 group , a service used since 2022 to launder cryptocurrency associated with cybercrime, the darknet, and ransomware attacks, have been detained ( https://www.eurojust.europa.eu/news/...-investigation ). ➤ According to the US Department of Justice, approximately 10,333 BTC, worth approximately $389.7 million, passed through AudiA6 wallets ( https://www.justice.gov/usao-edpa/pr...edly-laundered ). ➤ The scheme operated like a "laundromat": the criminals sent dirty crypto and a short time later received "clean money" after a chain of transactions. The commission was 3-10%. ➤ One of the detainees is 25-year-old Russian citizen Alexander Ledenev, the second is 37-year-old Ukrainian citizen Ruslan Tkachuk. Both lived in Batumi. The US has already announced plans to seek their extradition. ➤ In addition to laundering cryptocurrency, the group is linked to administering the Dark2Web forum , which advertised illegal services and coordinated cybercriminal activities. ➤ During the operation, servers, electronic media, and documents were seized, crypto assets worth $796,900 were frozen (with $99,000 seized), and property was seized, including 173 cars, real estate, and bank accounts.
