Avon and Somerset law enforcement officers seized 20.21 BTC, other cryptocurrencies, and bank account funds worth a total of £1.03 million. The assets belonged to a deceased defendant in a money laundering case and were linked to darknet marketplaces operating between 2016 and 2019. This is the agency's largest crypto seizure since the introduction of the digital wallet freezing mechanism in 2024.
