Stanislav Lisov paid his debt to society and returned home.
On Tuesday, June 17, at 2:20 Moscow time, Russian citizen Stanislav Lisov flew from New York to Moscow, convicted in the United States for creating the NeverQuest botnet.
At the Kennedy airport, Lisov was escorted by representatives of the US Migration Service from the temporary detention center of persons subject to deportation. A Russian was transferred to this center in Pennsylvania from a Pennsylvania prison on June 10 this year. The deportation process was monitored by members of the Consulate General of Russia in New York.
According to TASS, in connection with the quarantine imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hearings on Lisov’s deportation were held via video conference.
According to the Russian, of the things with him, he had only a Russian passport. “I am returning to my homeland with joy and trembling in my heart, so I really look forward to when the plane takes off. Then I will definitely be free, ”the Russian said.
Recall that Lisov was arrested in Spain in January 2017 for creating malware to steal bank data and was extradited to the United States a year later. In February 2019, a man pleaded guilty to one of two counts (conspiracy to commit computer fraud). The court sentenced for the crimes committedhe was sentenced to four years in prison, three years probation and a fine of $ 50 thousand. The court also ordered him to pay $ 481 thousand in compensation. Taking into account the time served in Spain, the convict has already been released and on June 17, 2020 he was delivered to his homeland.
