About 732 million rubles may be spent on creating a unified system until 2024.
The Ministry of Transport intends to develop a unified monitoring system that will record online possible cyber attacks and failures in the information infrastructure of transport equipment. A tender for the development of the project will be held in July 2020, the Izvestia newspaper reported.
About 732 million rubles may be spent on creating a unified system until 2024. Currently, transport companies monitor cybersecurity at their level, but new technologies will allow for federal control.
As explained in the department, the transport sector is characterized by streams of large amounts of data that need to be processed in a short period of time. The so-called Unified Security Monitoring Environment (ESMZ) will collect, process and store information about the management of transport infrastructure. ESMZ will detect not only external attempts to hack into the transport complex, but also possible malfunctions in the operation of equipment, incorrect operation of software, communication channels and control.
The development of the ESMZ is included in the federal project “Information Security”. The Ministry of Transport was appointed the executive officer. Currently, the federal budget law provides for financing in the amount of 525 million rubles in 2020–2021, the Ministry of Transport noted.
