Five defendants from different regions of Ukraine were selling non-existent goods on the Internet. The attackers demanded an advance payment from the buyers, and after receiving the money, they disappeared.

Cybercrime officers of the Volyn, Zaporozhye and Lviv regions, together with police investigators, exposed five people to online fraud.
So, three residents of Lutsk on social networks offered to buy non-existent women's clothing. In Zaporozhye, cyber-policemen exposed a local resident who created his own website, where he defrauded buyers under the pretext of selling furniture. A resident of Lviv posted ads for the sale of non-existent goods in group thematic chats in instant messengers. The man offered to buy sneakers at significantly reduced prices. He argued this cost by the fact that he is a "wholesale supplier".
In all cases, the cybercriminals demanded from buyers full or partial prepayment for cards. After receiving the money, the defendants blocked clients and did not fulfill their obligations.
According to preliminary estimates, the cybercriminals have deceived more than 120 buyers. The total amount of damage caused to the victims is more than half a million hryvnia.
In the homes of the defendants, law enforcement officers conducted searches and seized computer equipment, mobile phones and bank cards that were used in criminal activities.
On all the facts, criminal proceedings were initiated under Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions continue.
