Offenders used remote access software to access investor accounts to seize money.
In Odessa, law enforcement officers stopped the activities of a fraudulent brokerage call center, whose employees seized the money of Ukrainians and foreign citizens under the pretext of attracting investments and participating in trading on stock exchanges. This was reported by the National Police on Friday, November 13.

It is indicated that the attackers presented themselves as financial brokers and offered citizens to invest in financial markets and well-known crypto-exchanges in order to open a trading account on an Internet platform and obtain stable profits.

"Later, after opening an account, the offenders began to act under the guise of professional traders. Using the software for remote access to investor accounts, they carried out trading operations that did not correspond to reality, and took possession of investors' money," the message says.

Militiamen conducted a search in the office and seized computer equipment, mobile phones, rough notes and other material evidence of criminal activity.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the article on fraud committed on a large scale (part 3 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The attacker faces three to eight years in prison.
