In Zaporozhye, the criminal activity of seven people who posted ads on the sale of databases on the Internet was also documented. True, having received money from buyers, scammers did not pass on the promised databases to them. However, during a preliminary inspection of their computer equipment, law enforcement officers found a large amount of data from Ukrainian citizens. One of the participants in the criminal gang was a former bank employee.
In Kiev, law enforcement officers stopped the illegal activity of a local resident who held the position of a specialist in working with the data of key clients of the popular taxi service. For $ 10 thousand, an attacker offered a database with dossiers of 400 thousand people.
In Kiev, a person was also identified who, for $ 8 thousand, offered a database of 250 thousand customers of a well-known company. The attacker was detained by the police while trying to sell the database.
Employees of the cyber police of the Chernihiv region thwarted the activities of a local resident who was selling through a messenger the database of one of the state structures. In the Odessa region, two people were detained, who sold insurance companies and financial institutions through a messenger. In the Donetsk region, a cybercriminal was identified who, using malware, hacked databases of clients of international trading floors. Among other things, the attacker is the administrator of the site where stolen data is sold.
Relevant events were also held in Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kharkov and Poltava regions. During the investigation, police documented the illegal activities of 25 people.
