On the fact of the attack on a policeman, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 345 (Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigators completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the indictment to court.
Now the defendant has been announced on suspicion of committing an offense under Part 3 of Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years in prison.
