Last week, over $50 million worth of cryptocurrency was stolen from the decentralized platform Radiant Capital. The company reported that the attack affected three developers who had long collaborated with the platform.

Several information security specialists wrote on social networks that hackers gained access to private keys belonging to Radiant Capital developers, which ultimately allowed the attackers to steal users' funds. At the same time, some researchers claim that the company's losses could reach $58 million.

“The affected developers used hardware wallets and were located in different geographical locations, which reduced the likelihood of a coordinated physical attack,” the company said. “[However], the attackers were able to compromise the devices of at least three major contributors using a sophisticated malware injection. These compromised devices were then used to sign malicious transactions.”
At the same time, Radiant Capital believes that other devices of other developers could have been attacked.

In the company's Telegram channel , Radiant Capital representative Konstantin Levin reported that American law enforcement agencies, as well as several companies specializing in blockchain security, are participating in the investigation

of the attack. According to Levin, the company "faced a very sophisticated security breach, as a result of which it lost $50 million." He notes that the developers' devices were compromised in such a way that they "displayed legitimate transaction data, while malicious transactions were signed and executed in the background." It is also reported that the hacked devices "did not show any obvious warnings, except for minor crashes and error messages."

“The company is deeply shocked by this attack and will continue to actively cooperate with the relevant authorities to identify the perpetrator and recover the stolen funds as quickly as possible,” Levin wrote.
At the same time, it has not yet been reported whether the platform plans to pay compensation to the affected users whose funds were stolen.
