US launches international crackdown on criminal activity
The US Department of Justice on Wednesday seized 3 domains used by cybercriminals to sell stolen personal information and launch DDoS attacks. The domains weleakinfo.to, ipstress.in and ovh-booter.com were arrested . The ipstress.in and ovh-booter.com domains offered DDoS attack services to their clients.
The weleakinfo.to domain allowed the sale of stolen personal data and contained a database of over 10,000 leaks. The database consisted of 7 billion indexed records, which could be accessed through different subscription levels. The database contained:
“These seizures are prime examples of the ongoing actions the FBI and our international partners are taking to stop malicious cyber activity. Disrupting DDoS attacks and arresting websites that facilitate the theft and sale of stolen personal information is a priority for the FBI,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Wayne A. Jacobs.
