On November 3, rapper Wiz Khalifa’s X* account posted messages promoting a coin called “WIZ.” The post, which claimed the musician was “working with a team to launch $WIZ for crypto fans,” was soon deleted , but by that time the coin had already attracted the attention of 35.7 million followers.
WIZ was launched on the Solana blockchain-based Pump Fun platform and peaked at $3.4 million within 15 minutes of launch. However, less than an hour later, the market cap plummeted to $28,000 as early investors began selling tokens en masse. WIZ is currently trading at around $8,400, according to DEX Screener.
According to Solscan, the two largest wallets purchased over 155 million WIZ tokens for $19,100, selling them for a combined profit of $160,000.
Previously, Andy Irey's (Truth Terminal creator) account was also used to promote fraudulent meme coins, which brought the attackers an illegal profit of $1.5 million. Truth Terminal is known as the AI bot that drove the Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) meme coin to a peak of $940 million. Its current capitalization is $544 million, which is 39% lower than the maximum on October 24.
At the time of publication, the posts advertising WIZ have already been deleted, but it is unclear whether the rapper managed to regain access to his account.

"Don't buy Wiz Khalifa's token on Pump Fun - it's the same hacker who hacked the Truth Terminal creator's account," independent blockchain researcher ZachXBT reported on his Telegram channel. The methods of identifying the attacker, as well as the way he gained access to the rapper's account, remain unknown. |
